  • • 2 celery stalks, finely diced (100 g / 3.5 oz)
  • • 1 teaspoon dried oregano (1 g)
  • • 1 teaspoon dried basil (1 g)
  • • 2 tablespoons tomato paste (30 g)
  • • 400 g canned chopped tomatoes (14 oz)
  • • 250 ml beef or chicken broth (1 cup)
  • • 125 ml red wine (optional, ½ cup)
  • • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • • Pinch of sugar (optional, to balance acidity)
For the Pasta
  • • 400 g spaghetti (14 oz)
  • • Salt, for boiling water
Optional Garnish
  • • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • • Fresh basil leaves
