Salisbury Steak Meatballs

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Shape mixture into 8–10 meatballs, about 60 g (2 oz) each.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs on all sides, about 5–6 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to make a roux and cook for 1–2 minutes.
  5. Gradually whisk in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Cook until slightly thickened, about 3–4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Return meatballs to the skillet, spooning gravy over them. Reduce heat to low and simmer 10–15 minutes until meatballs are cooked through and flavors meld.
  7. Serve hot, spooning extra gravy over meatballs.
