Directions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Shape mixture into 8–10 meatballs, about 60 g (2 oz) each.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs on all sides, about 5–6 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to make a roux and cook for 1–2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Cook until slightly thickened, about 3–4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Return meatballs to the skillet, spooning gravy over them. Reduce heat to low and simmer 10–15 minutes until meatballs are cooked through and flavors meld.
- Serve hot, spooning extra gravy over meatballs.
