Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the water and flour. Add the oil, yeast, and salt. Mix thoroughly until a smooth ball of dough forms.
- Grease a separate bowl, place the dough ball inside, cover with cling film, and let it rest at room temperature for 2 hours until doubled in size.
- Gently knead the dough to release air, then divide it into three equal portions. Shape each portion into a baguette and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rest for 20 minutes.
- Using a sharp knife, make 3 diagonal slashes on the top of each baguette. Splash a little water over each loaf and sprinkle lightly with flour.
- Preheat the oven to 200ºC (392ºF) and bake the baguettes for 30 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack before slicing.
