Hearty Hamburger Soup

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef with the diced onion over medium heat. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add black pepper, oregano, basil, seasoning salt, and onion soup mix. Stir to combine.
  3. Pour in water, tomato sauce, and soy sauce. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Add diced tomatoes, corn, celery, celery leaves, carrots, and potatoes. Bring back to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered until the vegetables are tender, about 30 minutes. Add more water if needed for desired consistency.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning with garlic salt.
  6. Serve hot with shredded Parmesan cheese and a dollop of sour cream.
