Ingredients

For the Mozzarella Sticks

  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks (about 12 oz / 340 g)
  • ½ cup (60 g / 2.1 oz) all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) milk
  • 1 cup (100 g / 3.5 oz) Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup (50 g / 1.8 oz) panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoon (1 g) garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon (1 g) dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon (3 g) salt
  • ¼ teaspoon (1 g) black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying (about 3 cups / 720 ml, for deep frying)

For the Marinara Sauce

  • 1 cup (240 ml) marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • ¼ teaspoon (0.5 g) dried basil (optional)

For the Creamy Dip

  • ½ cup (120 g) sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon (0.5 g) garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
