Directions
- Preheat the oven to 230°C (450°F).
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the buttermilk to the dry ingredients and stir until a moist dough forms.
- Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Pour it into an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking dish. Ensure the pan is deep enough so the butter doesn’t overflow while baking.
- Place the dough directly on top of the melted butter. Use a spatula to spread the dough evenly across the pan until it reaches the edges.
- Cut the unbaked dough into 9 squares while it “swims” in butter.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with raspberry jam, honey, or enjoy as is.
