Butter Swim Biscuits

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 230°C (450°F).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the buttermilk to the dry ingredients and stir until a moist dough forms.
  4. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Pour it into an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking dish. Ensure the pan is deep enough so the butter doesn’t overflow while baking.
  5. Place the dough directly on top of the melted butter. Use a spatula to spread the dough evenly across the pan until it reaches the edges.
  6. Cut the unbaked dough into 9 squares while it “swims” in butter.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with raspberry jam, honey, or enjoy as is.
