Braised Steak & Onion with Dumplings

Ingredients
For the Braised Steak & Onion:
- 1 kg (2.2 lb) chuck steak, cut into cubes
- 2 cups (480 ml) reduced-salt beef stock
- 1 tbsp beef stock powder
- 2 tbsp Gravox onion gravy powder
- 1 tbsp Italian herbs
- 3 onions, chopped into quarters
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp tomato sauce
- 4 tbsp BBQ sauce
- Plain flour, for dusting
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Oil, for browning
For the Dumplings:
- 1 cup (125 g) self-raising flour
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 egg, beaten
