Ingredients

  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) beef chuck, cut into 2–3 cm (1 inch) cubes
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 tbsp (15 g) tomato paste
  • 1 liter (4 cups) beef broth
  • 1 tsp (5 g) dried thyme
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
