Stuffed Cheesecake Fried Apple Pies

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Apple Filling

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir to coat evenly.
  3. Cook 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender.
  4. Stir in the cornstarch-water mixture and cook 1–2 minutes until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and let cool completely.

Step 2: Prepare the Cheesecake Filling

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Transfer to a piping bag or keep a spoon handy for filling the pies.

Step 3: Assemble the Pies

  1. Lay pie crust rounds on a clean surface.
  2. Place 1–2 teaspoons of cheesecake filling in the center of each round.
  3. Spoon 1–2 tablespoons of cooled apple filling on top.
  4. Brush edges with egg wash, fold over into a half-moon, and press gently to seal.
  5. Crimp edges with a fork to prevent leaks.

Step 4: Fry the Pies

  1. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Fry 2–3 pies at a time for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  3. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Step 5: Prepare the Glaze

  1. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Adjust milk for desired consistency.

Step 6: Glaze and Serve

  1. Drizzle glaze over warm pies or dip tops for full coverage.
  2. Let set a few minutes before serving.
