- 1 large carrot, sliced (about 120 g / 1 cup)
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped (about 150 g / 1 cup)
- 800 g (2 cans / 28 oz each) crushed tomatoes
- 240 ml (1 cup) tomato sauce
- 1 liter (4 cups) beef or chicken broth
- 150 g (¾ cup) uncooked long-grain rice
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) Worcestershire sauce
- 5 g (1 tsp) paprika
- 5 g (1 tsp) dried oregano
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- Salt and black pepper to taste
