Directions

Step 1: Sear the Beef

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and sear quickly, just until browned on the outside. This step adds depth of flavor to the final dish. Transfer beef to the slow cooker.

Step 2: Add Vegetables

Layer the mushrooms, bell peppers, onion, and minced garlic over the beef in the slow cooker. The vegetables will soften and absorb the rich sauce as they cook.

Step 3: Prepare the Sauce

In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper until well combined.

Step 4: Combine

Pour the sauce evenly over the beef and vegetables, ensuring everything is well coated.

Step 5: Slow Cook

Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the beef is tender and the vegetables are soft.

Step 6: Thicken the Sauce

About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the cornstarch slurry. Cover and continue cooking until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.

Step 7: Serve

Stir gently and serve hot over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.
