Ingredients

For the Beef Patties:

  • 900 g (2 lb) ground beef (85/15)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, grated
  • 70 g (2/3 cup) panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) Worcestershire sauce
  • 10 ml (2 tsp) Dijon mustard
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes, crushed
  • 5 g (1 tsp) black pepper
  • 2.5 g (½ tsp) dried thyme
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) olive oil, for cooking

For the Mushroom Gravy:

  • 45 g (3 tbsp) butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 450 g (16 oz) mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 30 g (1/4 cup) all-purpose flour
  • 720 ml (3 cups) beef broth
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) Worcestershire sauce
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish
