Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, 1/3 cup of French onion soup, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 6 oval-shaped patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the patties on both sides, about 3–4 minutes per side. Remove patties and set aside.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the remaining 2/3 cup French onion soup, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, flour, mustard powder, garlic powder, and water. Stir until smooth.
  5. Pour the gravy mixture over the patties in the skillet. Top with sliced mushrooms if desired.
  6. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes, or until patties are cooked through and the gravy has thickened.
  7. Serve hot, spooning mushroom gravy generously over the patties.
