Quick & Easy Chinese-Style Tender Beef

Instructions

  1. Slice the Beef
Thinly slice the beef against the grain. Cutting against the grain shortens the muscle fibers, which helps create a more tender texture after cooking.
  2. Marinate the Beef
In a bowl, combine the beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well so the beef is evenly coated. Let it marinate for about 10–15 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.
  3. Mix the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and water. Set aside.
  4. Heat the Pan
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until hot and shimmering.
  5. Cook the Beef
Add the marinated beef in a single layer. Stir-fry for about 2–3 minutes until browned but still tender. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  6. Cook the Vegetables
In the same pan, add garlic, ginger, onion, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 2–3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened but still crisp.
  7. Combine & Sauce
Return the beef to the pan. Pour in the prepared sauce and stir everything together. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef beautifully.
  8. Garnish & Serve
Sprinkle chopped green onions and sesame seeds on top before serving.
