Directions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, buttermilk, milk, sugar, lemon juice, and white vinegar until smooth.
  2. Add the finely chopped cabbage, shredded carrot, and minced onion to the dressing.
  3. Sprinkle in the salt and pepper, and stir well to coat all the vegetables evenly with the dressing.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, up to 8 hours, to allow the flavors to meld and the cabbage to soften slightly.
  5. Stir again before serving, and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve chilled.
