Homemade Pizza Pockets

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and position the oven racks in the middle. Grease two baking trays or line them with parchment paper.
  2. Divide each pizza dough into two halves on a lightly floured surface. Roll out each half into 4 slices. Place 2 slices on each baking tray.
  3. For Classic Pizza Calzones: Spread half of each dough circle with pizza sauce, leaving a border around the edges. Layer with mozzarella, pepperoni, and black olives. Fold the dough over to cover the filling and press the edges to seal. Make a few small slits on top to let steam escape.
  4. For Broccoli & Cheddar Calzones: Brush olive oil over each dough circle and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. In a medium bowl, mix broccoli with cheddar and mozzarella. Spread the mixture evenly over half of each dough circle, fold the other half over, and seal the edges. Cut a few slits on top for steam to escape.
  5. Bake the calzones for 25–30 minutes, rotating the trays halfway, until the crust is golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
