Garlic Butter Steak and Potatoes Skillet (Perfect Dinner)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and cut the baby potatoes into halves or quarters so they cook evenly.
  2. Cook the Potatoes
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the potatoes, season with half the salt, pepper, and paprika, and cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and fork-tender. Remove the potatoes from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sear the Steak
In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and increase the heat to medium-high. Add the steak cubes in a single layer. Season with the remaining salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Cook the Steak
Sear the steak pieces for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
  5. Make the Garlic Butter
Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, stirring so the garlic doesn’t burn.
  6. Combine Steak and Potatoes
Return the cooked potatoes to the skillet and toss everything together so the garlic butter coats the steak and potatoes.
  7. Add Herbs and Finish
Sprinkle thyme or rosemary over the mixture and cook for another 1–2 minutes to blend the flavors.
  8. Garnish and Serve
Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve immediately while hot and buttery.
