Directions
- Prepare the Cake: Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and vegetable oil until light and fluffy. Add sour cream and vanilla extract.
- Add Eggs and Milk: Mix in the egg whites gradually, alternating with milk, until fully combined. Fold in chopped Oreo cookies.
- Bake: Divide batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Make Cookies and Cream Mousse: Heat 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream until steaming, pour over chopped white chocolate, and stir until smooth. Let cool slightly. Beat in softened cream cheese and vanilla extract. Fold in finely chopped Oreo cookies. Chill until slightly firm.
- Make Frosting: Beat butter and cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until fluffy. Fold in 3/4 cup of pulverized Oreos, reserving the rest for decoration.
- Assemble Cake: Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread an even layer of mousse over the cake, then place the second cake layer on top. Frost the entire cake with cookies-and-cream frosting.
- Prepare Ganache: Heat heavy cream until steaming, pour over chopped chocolate, and stir until smooth. Allow to cool slightly, then drizzle over the edges of the frosted cake for a decorative drip effect.
- Decorate: Sprinkle remaining pulverized Oreo cookies on top or add halved cookies for garnish. Chill briefly before serving for clean slices.
