Pizza Dough

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp salt

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let sit 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and oil, stirring until dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled.
  5. Punch down dough. For thin crust, divide into 2 portions; for thick crust, use whole dough.
  6. Roll out on a floured surface to desired thickness and place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Let rest 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
  8. Add toppings and bake 12–15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese melted.
