Donuts Dough

Ingredients

  • 1 pack rapid-rise yeast
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 4½ cups flour
  • Oil for frying

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let rest 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add eggs, butter, salt, and flour. Mix and knead until smooth.
  3. Cover and let rise 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Divide dough into 2 parts. Roll each on a floured surface to ¼-inch thickness. Cut donuts using a donut cutter.
  5. Heat oil (~3 inches deep) in a pan. Fry donuts until golden brown. Drain on paper towels or wire rack.
  6. Roll in white sugar or top with glaze/cinnamon sugar. Serve warm.
