Instructions
- Preheat your oven broiler. Melt 1 tbsp butter in a 10.25-inch oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Season sliced chicken with salt and pepper. Sear the chicken on both sides until lightly browned. Cover and simmer on low until cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
- Pour 2 tbsp chicken broth into the hot skillet to deglaze, scraping up the browned bits with a wooden spoon. These bits add extra flavor to the sauce.
- Steam the broccoli according to package directions, either in the microwave or on the stove in boiling water. Drain and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add 2 tbsp butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add cream cheese, heavy whipping cream, and Italian seasoning. Whisk over medium heat until smooth and fully combined. Reduce to medium-low and let the sauce simmer gently until it thickens, whisking frequently to prevent sticking.
- Stir in parmesan and pepper jack cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add cooked chicken and steamed broccoli to the skillet. Stir until everything is evenly coated in the creamy Alfredo sauce.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the mixture and top with basil (and optional bacon crumbles).
- Place the skillet under the broiler for 1–2 minutes, or until the mozzarella begins to bubble and turns lightly golden. Remove from oven and serve immediately.
