Directions
- In a medium non-stick skillet over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, and water. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to simmer.
- Add the pecans to the skillet, tossing them in the syrup so they are evenly coated. Cook for about 2–3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the liquid thickens slightly and the nuts are shiny and caramelized.
- Remove the skillet from heat and carefully spread the pecans onto a sheet of parchment paper in a single layer. Allow them to cool completely. As they cool, the coating will harden into a crisp, crunchy shell.
- Once cooled, break apart any pecans that are stuck together. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
