Directions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 20 cm (8-inch) square baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mash bananas until smooth. Stir in honey, applesauce, and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, mix oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and nuts (and optional chocolate or dried fruit).
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just incorporated. The batter will be thick.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
