Beef Shish Kebab

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine salt, brown sugar, cumin, paprika, and black pepper. Stir to mix well.
  2. Add the cubed beef to the marinade, tossing to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
  3. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Preheat your grill or broiler to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the beef cubes onto skewers, alternating with onion or bell pepper pieces if desired.
  5. Brush the kebabs lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking and add extra flavor.
  6. Grill the skewers for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness. For medium-rare, cook until the internal temperature reaches 130–135°F (54–57°C).
  7. Remove from heat and let the kebabs rest for 5 minutes before serving. This ensures the juices are retained and the meat stays tender.
