Balsamic Chicken

Directions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Pat chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook 5–6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in balsamic vinegar and chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan. Stir in honey and Italian herbs.
  4. Simmer: Reduce heat to medium-low and let the sauce simmer for 3–5 minutes, until slightly thickened.
  5. Combine chicken and sauce: Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over each piece. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  6. Serve: Transfer chicken to plates and drizzle with extra balsamic sauce from the pan. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
