Instructions
- Preheat oven. Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Prepare the chicken. Season the chicken breasts with salt and freshly ground black pepper and place them in the prepared dish.
- Make the garlic butter. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until lightly browned and fragrant.
- Add rosemary. Stir in the fresh rosemary leaves and remove the skillet from heat.
- Pour over chicken. Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the seasoned chicken breasts.
- Bake. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 30–32 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Add cheese. Sprinkle the shredded Italian cheese over the chicken and bake for an additional 3 minutes, or until melted and slightly golden.
- Serve. Remove from oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Spoon some of the garlic butter sauce over the top before serving for extra flavor.
