Directions
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- In a small bowl, combine tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and chopped onion. Mix until well incorporated.
- Butter one side of each bread slice lightly.
- Place one slice, buttered side down, on the skillet. Spread the tuna mixture evenly over the bread.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the tuna mixture.
- Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up.
- Cook for 3–4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook another 3–4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is crisp.
- Remove from heat and let the sandwich rest 1–2 minutes before slicing.
- Optional: serve with sliced tomato, pickles, or a light salad on the side.
