Tuna Melt Sandwich

Directions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. In a small bowl, combine tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and chopped onion. Mix until well incorporated.
  3. Butter one side of each bread slice lightly.
  4. Place one slice, buttered side down, on the skillet. Spread the tuna mixture evenly over the bread.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the tuna mixture.
  6. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up.
  7. Cook for 3–4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook another 3–4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is crisp.
  8. Remove from heat and let the sandwich rest 1–2 minutes before slicing.
  9. Optional: serve with sliced tomato, pickles, or a light salad on the side.
