Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Prepare the Breadcrumb Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the milk and breadcrumbs. Let the mixture sit for about 1 minute until the breadcrumbs absorb the liquid and soften.
Step 3: Add Remaining Ingredients
Add the eggs, chopped onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning to the breadcrumb mixture. Stir gently until well combined.
Step 4: Mix in the Beef
Add the ground beef to the bowl. Using your hands, gently mix until everything is just combined. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the meatloaf dense.
Step 5: Shape the Meatloaf
Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on the baking sheet. Smooth the top slightly.
Step 6: Make the Glaze
In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth and glossy.
Step 7: Glaze the Meatloaf
Spread half of the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Step 8: Bake
Place the meatloaf in the oven and bake for 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and spread the remaining glaze on top.
Step 9: Finish Baking
Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F).
Step 10: Rest and Serve
Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices settle and keeps each slice moist.
