Sweet & Savory Honey Pineapple Glazed Salmon

Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides evenly with salt and black pepper. This helps the fish cook evenly and enhances its natural flavor.

Step 2: Make the Glaze Base

In a small saucepan, combine pineapple juice, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

Step 3: Thicken the Glaze

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water until smooth. Slowly whisk it into the simmering sauce. Continue cooking for 2–3 minutes until the glaze thickens and becomes glossy. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 4: Heat the Pan

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, the oil should shimmer lightly.

Step 5: Cook the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down if applicable. Cook for 4–5 minutes without moving, allowing a golden crust to form.

Step 6: Flip and Glaze

Flip the salmon carefully and cook for another 2–3 minutes. Spoon the honey pineapple glaze generously over the fillets, letting it bubble and coat the fish.

Step 7: Finish Cooking

Continue cooking until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the glaze caramelizes slightly, filling the kitchen with a sweet, savory aroma.

Step 8: Rest Briefly

Remove salmon from heat and let it rest for 1–2 minutes so the glaze settles beautifully on the surface.

Step 9: Garnish

Sprinkle with fresh herbs and sesame seeds. Add sautéed pineapple chunks if desired for extra texture and flavor.
