Slow Cooked Chicken and Gravy

Directions

  1. Prepare the gravy base: In a slow cooker, combine the cream of chicken soup, both packages of gravy mix, and 2 cups of water. Whisk together until smooth and well blended.
  2. Season the sauce: Sprinkle in the garlic powder and onion powder, then stir to combine. Taste and add salt and pepper as desired.
  3. Add the chicken: Place the chicken breasts on top of the soup and gravy mixture, ensuring they are submerged as much as possible.
  4. Slow cook: Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  5. Optional vegetables: If desired, add fresh or frozen vegetables during the last hour of cooking. For fresh vegetables, check periodically to avoid overcooking and ending up with soggy pieces.
  6. Serve: Spoon the chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes, cooked rice, or pasta for a comforting, complete meal.
