Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and chopped onion. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  2. Stir in ketchup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, vinegar, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until the sauce thickens, about 30–40 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  4. Serve the hot beef mixture on split hamburger buns.
