Sausage, Egg & Hash Brown Breakfast Bake

Directions

Step 1: Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

Step 2: Prepare Hash Browns and Sausage

Spread the thawed hash browns evenly in the prepared baking dish. Layer the cooked, crumbled sausage evenly on top.

Step 3: Mix Eggs

In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.

Step 4: Assemble the Bake

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the hash browns and sausage. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups (150 g) of shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Step 5: Bake

Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 35–40 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.

Step 6: Add Final Cheese

Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup (50 g) of shredded cheese over the bake and return to the oven for 3–5 minutes until melted.

Step 7: Serve

Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, then slice and serve warm.

  • Make Ahead: Assemble the casserole the night before, cover, and refrigerate. Bake in the morning, adding 5–10 minutes to the baking time.
  • Add Veggies: Mix in sautéed bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Cheese Options: Swap cheddar for Swiss, Monterey Jack, or a blend for different tastes.
  • Spicy Kick: Add diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne to the egg mixture for a little heat.
