Peach Cobbler with Canned Peaches

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C / 350°F. Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan or 8-inch (20 cm) square pan lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Drain the canned peaches and spread them evenly in the prepared pan. Pour the melted butter over the peaches to coat them.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, and baking powder until combined. Gradually stir in the milk until you have a smooth, slightly pourable batter.
  4. Pour the batter gently over the peaches. Don’t worry if some peaches peek through; this rustic look is part of the charm.
  5. Place the cobbler in the preheated oven and bake for 55–60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and slightly crisp at the edges. The batter will rise and set while baking, creating a soft, fluffy topping.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. The cobbler can be served warm, at room temperature, or even chilled slightly if preferred.
  7. Optional: Top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
