Nutella Muffins

Directions

  1. Preheat Oven & Prepare Muffin Tin: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Stir well to evenly distribute the ingredients.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the oil, egg, and milk until smooth.
  4. Mix Batter: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix — a few lumps are okay.
  5. Fill Muffin Cups: Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, fill each muffin cup about 2/3 full with the batter.
  6. Add Nutella Swirl: Drop a teaspoon of Nutella into the center of each muffin. Using a toothpick or skewer, gently swirl the Nutella through the batter to create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake: Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the muffin comes out clean (note: chocolate from the Nutella swirl may appear on the tester, which is normal).
  8. Cool: Let muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips for Success

  • Don’t overmix the batter. Overmixing develops gluten and can make muffins tough.
  • Nutella isn’t the only option — try peanut butter, biscoff spread, or any creamy chocolate spread.
  • Use an ice cream scoop to portion batter evenly and prevent a messy muffin tin.
