Directions
- Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it into small pieces with a spatula. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add sliced onions and garlic to the skillet, sautéing for 2–3 minutes until fragrant and slightly softened.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, and cornstarch until smooth. Pour over the beef and onions. Stir and cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Add the shredded carrots or bell peppers (if using) and cook for another 2 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet with the beef and sauce until fully coated and heated through.
- Remove from heat and stir in sliced green onions. Sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
- Serve immediately in bowls, garnished with extra green onions or sesame seeds.
