Milhojas with Yogurt and Lemon Cream

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (360°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the puff pastry sheet into two equal parts. Sprinkle each part evenly with sugar and lemon zest.
  3. Bake the puff pastry for 15 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, whipped cream, lemon zest, and sugar. Whip gently until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  5. Once the puff pastry has cooled, place one sheet on a serving plate. Spread half of the yogurt lemon cream evenly over the surface.
  6. Cover with the second sheet of puff pastry. Top with the remaining cream, spreading it evenly.
  7. Optionally, garnish with additional lemon zest or a dusting of powdered sugar before serving.
  8. Chill the assembled Milhojas in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving to allow the cream to set slightly.
