Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the sausages and cook until browned on all sides, about 8–10 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the sliced bell peppers and onions. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized.
  4. Sprinkle with garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Slice the sausages and return them to the pan with the peppers and onions. Cook for another 5–7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Serve hot with crusty bread, hoagie rolls, or enjoy on its own.
