Ingredients
Chicken & Marinade
- 700 g (25 oz) bone-in chicken pieces
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp chili powder or paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- 3 tbsp plain yogurt (natural or unsweetened)

- 4–5 shallot onions, thinly sliced
- 2 bay leaves
- 4–5 green cardamom pods
- 1 stick cinnamon
- ½ tsp coriander seeds (optional, crushed or whole)
- 1 tsp chili powder or paprika
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil (neutral-flavored)
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 350 ml (1½ cups) warm water (add more if needed)
- Handful fresh coriander, chopped
- ½ tsp salt, or to taste
- 5–6 green chilies, sliced or halved
