Homemade Frosting Recipes

Mocha Buttercream

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225 g) butter, softened
  • 3 cups (360 g) powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup (25 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Beat the butter until creamy.
  2. Sift in powdered sugar and cocoa powder, then mix until incorporated.
  3. Dissolve instant coffee in a teaspoon of hot water, then add to the frosting. Add salt and beat until fluffy.

Notes: Excellent with chocolate cakes or as a filling in layered desserts.

Butter Pecan Frosting

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup (115 g) butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (360 g) powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup (30 g) crushed pecans
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Cream butter in a mixing bowl until soft.
  2. Gradually mix in powdered sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Stir in vanilla, salt, and crushed pecans. Beat until smooth.

Notes: Adds a nutty, spiced flavor perfect for autumn desserts or carrot cake.
