Garlic Parmesan Crusted Chicken

Directions

Step 1: Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.

Step 2: Prepare the Crust

In a shallow dish, combine the grated Parmesan, panko breadcrumbs, minced garlic, paprika, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Step 3: Prepare the Eggs

In a separate shallow bowl, beat the eggs until smooth.

Step 4: Coat the Chicken

Dip each chicken breast into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off. Then press the chicken into the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture, coating evenly on all sides.

Step 5: Arrange and Drizzle

Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle lightly with olive oil or melted butter to enhance browning and crispiness.

Step 6: Bake the Chicken

Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the crust is golden brown and crispy.

Step 7: Serve

Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 3–5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges for an extra burst of flavor.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra Crispy: For an even crunchier crust, lightly toast the Parmesan-panko mixture in a dry skillet before coating the chicken.
  • Flavor Boost: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or smoked paprika to the breadcrumb mixture for a subtle kick.
  • Gluten-Free: Substitute panko breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs or crushed almonds.
  • Serving Ideas: Serve with roasted vegetables, a fresh garden salad, or creamy mashed potatoes.
