Garlic Beef and Asparagus Stir-Fry

Directions:

  1. Prepare the Beef: Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips to ensure tenderness. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook the Asparagus: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the asparagus and stir-fry 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender and vibrant green. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. Stir-Fry the Beef: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the beef strips and stir-fry 2–3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  4. Add Garlic and Ginger: Add minced garlic and grated ginger (if using) to the skillet. Stir-fry 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant and lightly golden.
  5. Add the Sauces: Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce (if using), and rice vinegar. Mix well to coat the beef and let the sauce thicken slightly.
  6. Combine with Asparagus: Return the asparagus to the pan and toss everything together. Sprinkle in red pepper flakes if you like it spicy. Cook 2 more minutes to heat through and meld flavors.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
