Directions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a 20 cm (8-inch) round cake pan.
- In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer for 5–7 minutes until pale, fluffy, and doubled in volume.
- Gradually fold in the sifted flour mixture using a spatula, being careful not to deflate the batter.
- Mix the warm milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Gently fold this into the batter until smooth and combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Avoid opening the oven door too early to prevent collapsing.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
