Easy Baked Chicken Wings

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set to 220°C (425°F). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil, and place a wire rack on top if available.
  2. Prepare the wings: Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture helps achieve crispier skin.
  3. Season: In a large bowl, toss wings with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, and cayenne if using. Make sure every wing is evenly coated.
  4. Arrange for baking: Place wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet or wire rack, ensuring they’re not touching to allow even cooking.
  5. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes. Flip the wings halfway through to ensure even browning.
  6. Optional broil: For extra crispy skin, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
  7. Add sauce (optional): If using a sauce, toss the wings in it immediately after baking so they’re coated but not soggy.
  8. Serve: Arrange on a platter with celery and carrot sticks, and serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing if desired.
