Cinnamon Bun Cake in the Oven

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon to create the cinnamon filling.
  6. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking pan. Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the batter.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining cake batter over the cinnamon filling. Use a knife or spatula to swirl the batter and filling together, creating a marbled effect.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. While baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  10. Remove the cake from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cake and allow it to soak in.
  11. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
