Directions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the Creole seasoning, paprika, onion powder, and black pepper. Set aside.
- Cut the beef tenderloin into bite-sized pieces, about 1½ x 1 inches. Place the steak bites and sliced mushrooms into a large bowl. Add 2½ tbsp oil and the prepared seasoning mix. Toss until the steak and mushrooms are evenly coated.
- Cover the bowl and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1½ hours to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes. Arrange the steak bites in a single layer with a little space between pieces so they don’t steam. Place mushrooms around and in between the steak pieces. If needed, cook mushrooms separately for 6 minutes at 400°F.
- Cook the steak bites in the air fryer in 2 batches at 400°F for 6–10 minutes. For rare steak, cook about 6 minutes; for medium-well, cook up to 10 minutes.
- Remove the cooked steak and mushrooms and immediately toss in a bowl with the 2½ tbsp butter while still hot. Sprinkle additional Creole seasoning or salt to taste.
- Serve hot with your favorite sides such as rice, roasted broccoli, noodles, Brussels sprouts, couscous, roasted carrots, or a fresh green salad.
