Butter Swim Biscuits (Quick and Easy!)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Pour the buttermilk into the dry ingredients and mix until a moist dough forms.
  4. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Pour it into an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking dish, making sure the butter covers the bottom and edges.
  5. Place the dough into the dish on top of the melted butter. Use a spatula to spread it evenly so it touches the sides of the pan.
  6. Cut the unbaked dough into 9 squares. At this stage, the dough is “swimming” in butter, which will help it bake beautifully.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
