Baked Cabbage Steaks

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Remove any tough outer leaves from the cabbage and slice it into 2–3 cm (¾–1 inch) thick rounds, creating “steaks.”
  3. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Brush both sides of each cabbage steak with the seasoned oil mixture, ensuring even coverage.
  5. Arrange the cabbage steaks on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Roast for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are golden and slightly crispy, and the centers are tender.
  6. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley, a sprinkle of Parmesan, or a squeeze of fresh lemon if desired.
  7. Serve immediately as a side dish or as a base for roasted vegetables, grains, or sauces.
