Directions
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small saucepan, add the apple quarters and a splash of water. Simmer for about 4 minutes, or until the apples just begin to soften. Drain and return to the pan. Stir in the sugar and allow the mixture to cool completely.
- Unfold each puff pastry sheet and cut into six equal rectangles. You should have 12 rectangles in total.
- Lightly dampen the edges of a rectangle with water. Place a spoonful of the sweetened apple mixture in the center. Top it with another rectangle, making a small slit in the top piece to allow steam to escape.
- Press the edges together firmly to seal the parcels. Repeat this process with all rectangles until all Apple Danishes are assembled.
- Place the pastries on the prepared baking tray. Lightly dust each with a little extra sugar for a sparkling finish.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm to fully enjoy the buttery, flaky texture and sweet apple filling.
