Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, eggs, salt, oil, vinegar, and water. Knead into a smooth dough and let rest for 15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal parts and let them rest for another 15 minutes.
- Roll out each piece of dough into thin sheets. Grease a baking pan and start layering the sheets, brushing each layer with melted butter.
- After arranging half the layers, sprinkle a portion of the chopped walnuts evenly on top. Continue layering the remaining dough sheets, brushing each with butter.
- Once all layers are assembled, cut the baklava into cubes or diamonds.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (360°F) for 60 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.
- While the baklava is baking, prepare the syrup by combining water, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Heat until the sugar dissolves completely and the syrup slightly thickens.
- Remove the baked baklava from the oven and pour the syrup evenly over the hot pastry. Allow it to soak and cool before serving.
