Walnuts Baklava

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, eggs, salt, oil, vinegar, and water. Knead into a smooth dough and let rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Divide the dough into 12 equal parts and let them rest for another 15 minutes.
  3. Roll out each piece of dough into thin sheets. Grease a baking pan and start layering the sheets, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  4. After arranging half the layers, sprinkle a portion of the chopped walnuts evenly on top. Continue layering the remaining dough sheets, brushing each with butter.
  5. Once all layers are assembled, cut the baklava into cubes or diamonds.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (360°F) for 60 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.
  7. While the baklava is baking, prepare the syrup by combining water, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Heat until the sugar dissolves completely and the syrup slightly thickens.
  8. Remove the baked baklava from the oven and pour the syrup evenly over the hot pastry. Allow it to soak and cool before serving.
