This is my hubby’s fave dish, but I’m often in a crunch and have no time for anything fancy

Step 1: Sauté the vegetables

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and red bell pepper. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant, making the kitchen smell amazing.

Step 2: Cook the meat

Add the ground beef (or steak strips) to the skillet. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned, breaking the meat apart so it cooks evenly.

Step 3: Add the vegetables and noodles

Stir in the frozen mixed vegetables and the pre-cooked noodles. Toss everything together so the pasta is coated in the flavorful juices from the meat and vegetables. Heat until everything is warmed through.

Step 4: Add the cheese

Sprinkle shredded cheddar (or your chosen cheese blend) evenly over the top. Cover the skillet or reduce the heat to low, allowing the cheese to melt fully and become gooey and delicious.

Step 5: Serve with optional toppings

Garnish with fresh parsley, a sprinkle of crushed red pepper, or a dollop of sour cream if desired. Serve immediately while hot and cheesy for maximum comfort.

Why This Dish Works for Busy Nights

  • One-pan convenience: Protein, vegetables, and carbs all in one skillet — minimal cleanup!
  • Quick prep: Using pre-cooked pasta and frozen vegetables keeps cooking time short.
  • Hearty and satisfying: Melted cheese and the combination of flavors make it feel indulgent.
  • Flexible: Swap meats, pasta, or cheeses to suit your preferences or dietary needs.
